Everett Oliver

I first met Everett Oliver at a weekend animation workout in NYC. I am quiet and introverted by nature. For me, an event where I am in an unfamiliar place with people I don’t know with lots of sensory stimulation is very overwhelming for me. Regardless, Everett Oliver figured out how best to teach me specifically and get me to be more open or “out of my shell”. I have been training with him since.

He got me, an autistic guy with general/social anxiety who has a stutter on occasion, to travel by myself via flight for the first time in my life to Atlanta, GA for VO Atlanta 2019. In doing so I enjoyed myself so much (along with learning a lot) to the point that I will be returning in 2020!

If Everett Oliver can manage to pull this off with me, imagine what he can do for you!

This was one of the best, if not THE best animation workshops I’ve ever been to! Everett’s direction is animated, physical, and intense, and you will quickly learn the level of skill and professionalism involved in being a voice actor for animation. Not only does he direct you in the booth, he gives you a clear direction on the next steps you need to take to take your acting career to the next level. He will make you think. He will make you laugh. He will make you sweat. And you will love every minute of it.

Everett is an outstanding educator! He knows how to get his knowledge out there for you and then pull the performance he needs from you. An eye opening experience in my voice career. I will definitely seek him out for further improvement of my skills.

Everett is a breath of fresh air. Being coached by him is a great experience, he’s highly intuitive, had insights about my performance and voice that I had never heard before and he gave me so many valuable tools that I’ve been using since our session. Working with Everett has been one of the best investments I have ever made in my career. Under his mentoring I’ve seen my abilities jump to the next level making me much more competitive in my field of character voice acting. He makes me a better actor whenever I work with him and I always can’t wait to see where he takes me next.

Connected some dots for me……

Since I started in 2020 I kept hearing that I need to listen to commercials, watch tv to learn. In the beginning it just wasn’t connecting for me exactly what I was listening for. Once I got to the place of auditioning myself, I started listening to the commercials and actually hearing the vocal inflections, range, etc. From this session today it’s clicking on what I am observing….. they emotion. The WHY the vocals sound that way based on the scenario and the emotions being communicated. I am happy this is starting to click for me. #TheMoreYouKnow

Great use case and what to get to have Everett on this! It’s also encouraging to see that even with the depth of experience you have, sometimes scripts like this can provide a challenge. For those starting out, it helps the ‘well, everyone else does this easily, clearly I just must suck!’ idea.

Everett the “VO Whisperer” Oliver.

I took so many notes on this coaching segment. I definitely heard the difference from where Terri started to where she ended with both characters because by the end of both reads she became two different people. Bravo, Bravo. Everett will get the best out of you. I got the pleasure of meeting him in person this year at VO Atlanta. I had one webinar with him and you could tell that Everett knows his stuff and will let you know immediately if your read isn’t believable. He is direct and to the point and doesn’t mince his words because he is being honest without trying to hurt your feelings. He wants to help you get better because he knows what it takes and has great respect in the VO industry at the highest level. Thanks for bringing him to the VO Accelerator Terri. I will re-watch this session. So many pearls of character vo wisdom.

What a fun-filled and value-packed animation workshop at TNVO with Everett Oliver from LA. I’ve worked with Everett before, but not in a workshop like this in person. He has an uncanny ability to tap into each individual’s psyche and identify and remove roadblocks that may be hindering growth. It was really fun to watch each person get better right before my eyes.

Everett is one of the most generous teachers in this industry. He is so gracious, humble and giving to everyone equally. I felt like I was watching private lessons with each student. He really takes his time and works collaboratively with the talent and not exclusively in a lecture style. He’s also super funny and fun to be around and I felt invigorated and renewed after spending the day with him in this class. If you get the chance to work with him, especially in person, do it! Having him come to Nashville was a real treat. We were all super fortunate to have had the opportunity.
